Third Street Methodist Church is an independent Methodist Church in the heart of downtown Danville, Kentucky. The church building is a beautiful, 1891 Romanesque styled, dome ceiling church with beautiful stained glass windows.

We are a traditional church with a traditional Sunday morning worship service. Our church follows the teachings of the Bible with the enhancement of Methodist traditions.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God (the Scriptures) from Genesis to Revelation. II Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." (NKJV)

Our worship services include reciting the Affirmation of Faith, Congregational Prayer followed by the Lord's Model Prayer, singing the Doxology (thanking God for our weekly provision and much more), Biblical teaching and preaching from the pulpit, communion on the first Sunday each month, and music.

The music of our church is traditional hymns along with other pieces of appropriate music in accord with the Bible: Colossians 3:16 "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (NKJV)

The atmosphere of our church is Christ centered where the presence of God is welcome. Our church is a place where the Bible is taught, Jesus is preached, and love is practiced.

If you do not already have a home church, or if you are looking for one, we would like to invite you to become a special part of ours. God bless you is our prayer.
